Last Weekend's Getaway, This Weekend's Reveal

We decided to runaway to Disney World last weekend at the very last second. I got a call from work informing me that vessels were docking late at the port and second shift would be shut down for four days! Time to put those Disney World Annual Passes to good use! Found a great hotel on priceline.com for $34 a night and we used some of our Disney Visa rewards points for food. Three nights at Disney World and it cost us less than $200 gas and lodging. Here are some pictures from the trip:

We had a lot of fun. It was pretty hot, so we toured early and came back to the room for a nap and shower. Then we would head back out for the evening. We did buy a couple of souvenirs though...

WHAT!? Are those for us? Why yes, they are!

June 29th, 2012
We told immediate family as soon as we left the doctor's office June 29th. Drove up to Alabama and everything. Now it's time to let everyone else in on our secret! As of today we are 12 weeks and 6 days along. We heard the baby's heartbeat today for the first time at 150bpm. We are excited and scared all at once. Lots of changes in store for us, but all for the good. Until next time...

Crotchety

Been wanting this sign ever since we moved into our subdivision. Being from Alabama, solicitation isn't something that Tyler and I ever had to deal with. The day we moved in someone tried to sell us an alarm system. I'm on one end of a couch, my brother-in-law on the other, trying to man handle this beast off the moving truck. I was not amused by the salesman at all. My sister to this day talks about the way I spoke to him and sent him on his way. I hate solicitors almost as much as telemarketers. Hopefully this sign will eliminate most of the problem. Step one of becoming a crotchety old man complete.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 3rd Anniversary. In case you didn't know, Tyler and I were married in Key West on the morning of July 2, 2009. We were supposed to be married at sunset on the 1st, but a huge storm rolled in just prior to the ceremony and it was pushed back until the next morning. We didn't really freak out or anything, we just went with the flow. It affected Tyler more than anything, because she had her hair and makeup done already. She basically had to sleep upright and hope everything was still good in the morning. The next morning was gorgeous and the pictures came out great. After the ceremony we went straight into the honeymoon and toured Key West. It was a great weekend and we are so glad we did it.

Colt Pays us a Visit

Tyler's brother Colt came up from Auburn University this weekend. We had a good time. We mostly ate out the whole weekend and laid around Tybee Island on Saturday. It was a short visit, but we will take it. It's not very often we get visitors here in Savannah and we enjoy the company.

Cat Door Install

Tyler had a great idea a week back. She suggested that we install a pet door going into the garage. The cats love being in the garage for some weird reason. Monkey cries at the door in the hallway until you let him in. We also figure we can move their litter box, food and water out there. Hopefully this will decrease the presence of cats in the house. Nobody has ever complained of smells or cat hair, but they are probably just being polite. I installed the door today since I was off work. I taped up the flap for now, but they still don't know what to think of it.

Welcome! Meet the Family!

Monkey and Turtle doing what they do best.
Star Wars Weekends 2012 Disney's Hollywood Studios
Welcome to our new blog and our very first post! We hope to use this medium as a way to keep our family and friends up to date with what is going on in the Thompson household. We think it will serve as a virtual scrapbook that we can refer to when we feel reminiscent of days gone by. Thanks for stopping by!
